Tom Clancy’s The Division: Ubisoft Announces Date for Open Beta

Tom Clancy’s The Division: Open Beta dates

For those like me who were not able to join the Closed Beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division, Ubisoft just announced some really awesome news: This beta will be open for all.

Quick! Rush in and get shot in the head.

Xbox owners will be first to play Tom Clancy’s The Division with exclusive access on February 18th. Owners of the far superior PS4 and PC get Open beta access February 19th. This beta (play teaser demo) too is short lived, ending 11:59pm February 21.

To make the most of the short 3 day (4 days for Xbox One users) open beta, pre-load start for  Tom Clancy’s The Division starting on Tuesday, February 16.

Ubisoft has opened the beta to test their systems before launch and get more feedback from players. As if an open beta announcement was not enough to entice players, Ubisoft revealed that they will be bribing players with in-game rewards in thanks for joining the upcoming open beta.

For those who participated in the recently concluded closed beta, Ubisoft will also have some extra incentives for them. Although the extra incentives were not listed, it was revealed that one of them will be a new story mission that was not included in the closed beta.

The best part of joining the open beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division is that the in-game rewards that will be given to beta testers will also be available for players when Tom Clancy’s The Division is released. Which basically eliminates the incentive to pre-order and get an early taste of the game, since “everyone gets a trophy”, even those who didn’t participate.

Ubisoft, will be releasing Tom Clancy’s The Division for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on March 8.

It’s with high hopes that Ubisoft does not mess up The Division. With such a recent streak of lackluster games such as Assassins Creed Unity AND Syndicate as well as Anno 2205, they’re on a slope to obscurity.
